  • The FINAL EXAM is scheduled for Wednesday December 12 from 8-10 PM (evening), in room BCC (Business College Complex) N130
  • On Thursday December 6 th, I will do a review using problems posted already under 'other resources'.
  • LAST QUIZ will be held Tuesday December 4th
  • Walk-in hours before during the finals week:
    • Thursday Dec. 6 4:30-5:30 BPS 1248 (Helproom)
    • Tuesday Dec. 11 11-12 am and 1-2 pm Cyclotron building (ask receptionist to call me up).
  • Material I certainly won't ask about in the final from the last 4 chapters. The page number given below refer to the POST LECTURE NOTES
    • Relativity (chapter 26): you don't have to know the details from slides 4-10, just the main idea that there is NO ether. You also don't need to be able to derive the time dilation and lorentz contraction equations, but of course you need to know how to apply these equations. Ignore slides 27-30. From slide 32, you need to be able to use equation E=mc2 but not the other equations. I won't ask about slides 35-39.
    • Quantum physics (chapter 27): slides 9-13
    • Atomic physics (chapter 28): you do not have to be able to reproduce the mathematical derivations on slides 9-14, but you should be able to apply equations 5 and 6
    • Nuclear physics (chapter 29): slides 34-36
