Use a STAR computer e.g. emc02.starp.bnl.gov and the EMC account.

cd to /home/emc/vdmolen. In this directory  are  found copies of the EMC software to look at pedestals.

 

 

To look at Jet Patches

> cd  jetPatch

> starnew                                       Sets up necessary libraries

> consevpnew                                Compiles, etc. files

> root4star runEmcOnline.C

 

 

 

 

In pop-up window

> Select option Daq File for stored data

> Select option OPEN

> Browse to /bufferbox/a (or b or…) (highest level)

 

> Select file

> Select START

> Run until end or STOP

> Select Browse Results

> Select EmcOnLine->.make->emconline->.hist->Tlist

> Select mJetPatchHist

 

 

To look at tower patches

> cd  jetPatch

     > starnew                              Sets up necessary libraries

> consevpnew                       Compiles, etc. files

     > root4star          runEmcOnline.C

To look at a 4x4 display of single towers

         > cd  4x4

> starnew                                       Sets up necessary libraries

> cd StRoot/StLedMonitorMaker

> Edit StLedMonitorMaker.cxx

> Change tower numbers ( variable--patchTowerId[16])

> consevpnew                                Compiles,etc. files

> cd 4x4

> root4star monitorLED.C  

 

 

 

In  pop-up window

> Select option OPEN

> Browse to /bufferbox/a (or b or…) (highest level)

 

 

> Select file

> Select START

> Run until end or STOP

> Select Browse Results

> Go to .make->LedMonitor

> Right click on LedMonitorMaker

> Select plot16PedestalSpectra
