Partial credit option FAQ's
1. How do I do the
partial credit option ?
In principle this works like a regular homework assignment though there are a
few differences:
You need to get your CAPA ID e-mailed to you using the "Lost your CAPA ?"
option on the CAPA top page.
(we will not provide a paper copy)
Select a different class: xpc183-001 (NOT the usual phy183-001)
From there on everything is the same - you select the set number that corresponds to exam number (exam 1 - set 1, etc) and enter student and capa ID's.
2. Do I have to do all
the problems again ?
Yes, each problem you get right on the partial credit will count towards your
partial credit score, regardless of which problems you got right or wrong in the
exam. So try to do all the problems !
3. How is the partial
credit determined ?
Your partial credit will be determined by taking 30% of the difference between
your total partial credit score and your total exam score. These
points will be added to your exam score at the end of the class. Of
course your exam score will never be lowered, even if your partial credit score
is less than the exam score.
4. Why doesn't my
partial credit show up on my exam score ?
The partial credit will be added to your exam score at the end of the
class. It does, however, show up in the grade extrapolation applet.
5. I had 100% in the
exam. Should I do the partial credit option ?
If you had 100% on the exam there is no point in doing the partial credit
(except if you think the additional exercise will help you).
6.
How can I check my partial credit score ?
Same as checking your homework score ("term summary") but you have to choose the
class xpc183-001 when logging onto CAPA
