Nuclear Theory

The properties of exotic nuclei and nuclear reactions cannot be observed directly. The results of the measurements have to be compared to models. These models contain the physics that we are trying to understand, and they require highly complex computer simulations. At NSCL, nuclear theorists perform these calculations to interpret and understand the results of the experiments.
