Conduction Cooling Superconducting Solenoid Systems for Muon Beam Lines in Japan
- Toru Ogitsu, High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK)
Thursday, October 18, 3:00 PM - Special FRIB Seminar
NSCL Seminar Room
Conduction cooling superconducting solenoids are used in several muon beam lines in Japan. One is the MUSIC beam line in Osaka University the other is the ultra-slow muon beam line at J-PARC. The COMET project that is planned at J-PARC will also utilize conduction cooling solenoids for the muon beam line. The seminar briefly introduces those beam lines and presents the technical details of the solenoids. The issues and measures associated with possible neutron irradiation will be presented also.
