I joined the operations department of the Coupled Cyclotron Facility in 2004 to be a member of the A1900 beam delivery group. The group is responsible for delivering primary and secondary beams from the exit of the K1200 cyclotron to any experiment. Maintenance and upgrade projects are part of the duties that are required as we strive for optimum reliability and quality of high-energy beams for experimenters. My other interests lie in beam optics and the design of beam transport devices; detection systems for beam characterization; and finally, the charge-state characteristics and slowing-down characteristics of heavy ions penetrating matter.
