The ratio Mn/Mp for the N = 28 isotones. The most neutron-rich isotopes show experimental
values that exceed unity, suggesting that neutron excitations across the N = 28 shell
gap are needed to describe the wave function of the first excited 2+ state in 46Ar. Adapted from
