Measured and predicted islands of inversion across the neutron-rich side of the
nuclear chart. The islands around 12Be (N = 8) and 31Na (N = 20) are studied at present facilities. At
the ISF, a new possible island of inversion around 64Cr (N = 40) will become accessible to spectroscopic
studies with β decay, Coulomb excitation, and one-nucleon knockout. The rates required
for these studies are 10-3 s-1 (β-decay parent), 1 s-1, and 0.1 s-1 (knockout projectile), respectively.
