The trim coils of the K500 cyclotron accelerator prior to installation. Thirteen small copper wire coils are built into the structure and connected to power supplies through the vertical current leads. The current through each trim coil can be adjusted individually to adapt the magnetic field in the cyclotron to the ion species to be accelerated.
