The head of the Cyclotron Operations group is standing on the decking around the top of the K500 cyclotron main magnet, the large white cylinder. The vertical copper dee-stems at the top and bottom of the cyclotron help to tune the accelerating high voltage to the desired frequency. The cluster of magnets and associated equipment projecting from the cyclotron toward the lower left corner of the picture is the beginning of the beam line from the K500 to the K1200 cyclotron.
