Diamond Detector
Andreas Stolz, NSCL assistant professor and deputy department head of operations, adjusts a diamond detector built by scientists at NSCL. The detector can handle high-intensity beams, thus making it easier to measure the time-of-flight of rare isotopes.
Operation of NSCL as a national user facility is supported by the Experimental Nuclear Physics Program of the U.S. National Science Foundation.
