Nuclear physics has an exciting future, highlighted in the low energy domain by the construction of the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory (RIBF) in Japan, the Facility for Rare Ion Beams (FRIB) in the USA and the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) in Germany. For a strong coupling of experiment and theory, RIKEN, NSCL/FRIB and GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung GmbH must serve as hubs to the theory community, fostering activity that is beneficial to the respective experimental programs. It is in this context that we propose a program on International Collaborations in Nuclear Theory in connection to rare isotopes (ICNT).
The main objective of this initiative is to stimulate and coordinate theory visitor efforts into topical programs and sabbaticals that address specific needs of the rare isotope experimental activities at RIKEN, NSCL/FRIB, and GSI.
Applications for topical programs and/or sabbatical visits should be submitted to the Chair of the Board by 30 November 2012 (email to brown@nscl.msu.edu). For guidelines and more information, visit: http://www.frib.msu.edu/content/ICNT-announcement.
