Graduate Student Activities

Graduate students take an active part in the organization and daily business of the NSCL. Graduate students are represented on most laboratory committees.

NSCL graduate students administer their own office space, furniture, and desktop computers. The graduate students meet weekly and have organized their own graduate student seminar series.

Graduate students participate in the governance process for the College of Natural Science and the University and in the Council of Graduate Students.

Graduate students contribute to many of the outreach activities offered through the NSCL.

The MSU Promise challenges us to become an “exemplary engaged university” by 2005. Many opportunities exist to be involved in the local community. The Service-Learning Center acts as a clearing-house for volunteers who strive to combine research, teaching, and service.
