Fun Fizziks Finds 6

Another installment of physics-related stories from around the web that will tickle your fancy.

First: I'm glad Intel is thinking about how cosmic rays cause bit errors in RAM, plus this is really cool.

Second: when I was teaching college astronomy a few years ago, I regularly got emails early in the semester from people who wanted to join my astrology class. I always replied that the Department of Physics and Astronomy is in a totally different building from Psychics and Astrology.

Should scientists date people who believe in astrology?

(Aside: there is a current radio commercial that asks the listener "Have you ever had a psychic reading? How would you tell if it was any good?" Sigh.)

Third: you'd better start tying everything down, because we're about to start using up our gravity reserves.

Wince-worthy radio commercials

My current favorite is the Quantum Resonance and Prayer System.

This particular commercial must be listened to in order to grasp its true scope, as it is effectively an impressively thorough summary of the horrible pseudoscience "quantum healing" cliches. Essentially, they promise to send you healing energies from a distance (for a fee, of course). Is there anyone who will not figure this for a scam?
