Abstract:  The National Science Foundation (NSF) is the primary agency within the US Government that is devoted to funding university-based basic research in all fields of science and engineering. Funds provided through NSF awards provide both infrastructure resources and support for students and postdoctoral research associates engaged in the research projects. The presentation will discuss the structure and goals of the agency and describe a little of what it is like to work there.
